Several measures were advanced in the hospital, highly efficient heating circulation pumps and a new refrigeration machine with two turbo compressors have been installed, the water heating system has been converted to fresh water heating and the LED lighting has been expanded.
Overall, the hospital has reduced its natural gas consumption and CO2 emissions by around 50 percent and also used 40 percent less water. “We are currently working on many other projects,” says Markus Plunger, technical manager at Braunau Hospital. As a religious hospital, one bears a great deal of responsibility for sustainable action.
