The driver, a 29-year-old German construction worker residing in Schrobenhausen, was taken to a Passau police station. A test with the Alkomat resulted in a value of 2.8 per mille. A drug test was also positive.
“Even experienced officials were amazed that the construction worker, despite his obvious intoxication, steered the car while it was being stopped without recognizable driving errors,” according to a release by the Passau police.
When the man was checked, it turned out that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Reason: drink driving. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the man for theft, drunk driving, driving without a license and violations of the Narcotics Act.
