President Boluarte hopes that Machu Picchu will reopen on February 15

The entity decided to close the doors of the world wonder to preserve cultural heritage and avoid putting it at risk during the social protests that are taking place throughout the country.

New mobilization against the Boluarte government

Thousands of Peruvians took last Thursday the streets of different citiesincluding Limefor demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and clamor for elections to be called to put an end to the political crisis that is accumulating near 60 dead in two months.

“Dina, murderer, the people repudiate you”was the most repeated chant by the demonstrators, who also expressed their rejection of Congress, responsible for the fact that the elections cannot be held this year, as even the Government wanted.

The mobilization, one of the busiest of the several made since Boluarte took office on December 7 in replacement of the president removed by Congress, Pedro Castillowas convened this time by the General Confederation of Workers of Peru, but had participation of multiple popular organizations who are up against the Executive and the Legislative.

In Limeconverted in recent days into the epicenter of the largest proteststhe massive march began in the central Plaza Dos de Mayo and advanced in the direction of other historical points, in the middle of a shelter made up of more than 12,000 members of the Armed Forces.
