Majority of Austrians against 100 km/h on the Autobahn

The majority of Austrians reject a speed limit of 100 km/h on the autobahn. 37 percent are strict, another 22 percent are against it, according to a recent survey by the opinion research institute Unique Research for the current issue of the news magazine “profile” shows. Only 16 percent would reduce the speed for climate protection reasons “very” welcome, another 21 percent are “rather” for this. Five percent were undecided. However, compared to the last survey in June 2022, approval has increased. At that time, a total of 68 percent were against it, but this proportion has now fallen to 59 percent.
