The US carried out attacks on Nord Stream, according to Russia
According to lavrov, USA did this to destroy the powerful alliance based on Russian energy resources and German technology, since began to threaten the monopoly position of many American corporations.
An investigation by the American journalist Seymour Hersh, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, revealed that US Navy military divers placed explosive charges under Russian gas pipelines during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercises Baltops in mid-2022.
Three months later, in September, according to the journalist, the Norwegians activated the explosives, causing serious damage to the pipelines that connect Russia with Germany through the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
“Last June, the (US) Navy divers, who were operating under the protection of NATO exercises (…), known as Baltops 22planted the remotely activated explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four branches of the Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of operational planning,” Hersch wrote on his website.
Hersh stressed that US President Joe Biden approved the sabotage after more than nine months of secret discussions with his national security team.
The White House denied last Wednesday that it was behind the explosions.after the accusation made by the journalist of the newspaper The New York Times.
The preparations for the sabotage would have been coordinated by US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who convened an inter-agency team to develop a plan, added the journalist, who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970 for his work on the My Lai massacre at the hands of of a military unit of the US Army during the Vietnam War.
On September 26, 2022, the company Nord Stream 2 AG, operator of the Russian gas pipeline of the same name, announced a gas leak in one of the two infrastructure pipelines near the Danish island of Bornholm due to unknown causes.
It later emerged that the two lines of the parallel gas pipeline Nord Stream 1 had also been damaged. Germany, Denmark and Sweden did not rule out an act of sabotage.
The Swedish seismological network reported that its equipment detected powerful underwater explosions that day, according to the SVT television channel.
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service cataloged the explosions of terrorist attacks and revealed that it had evidence that pointed to the involvement of certain Western countries.
The Attorney General Russia opened an investigation for international terrorism after the damage to the two pipelines that occurred in an area of the Baltic Sea infested by NATO warships, the war alliance led by the United States.
Data from the Flightradar24 website, which displays real-time information on air traffic around the world, revealed that in early September US military helicopters regularly flew over the area where the incident occurred for hours.
The Pentagon refused to comment on these reports, saying only that they were ready to support European efforts to mitigate potential environmental impact.
The Nord Stream 1 suspended the transfer of Russian gas to Germany at the end of August, due to Western sanctions that prevented the Siemens company from repairing the infrastructure’s turbines.
The recently built Nord Stream 2, ready to operate since October 2021, had been blocked by the German Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, since February 2022 due to his geopolitical disputes with Moscow.
The United States was opposed to the construction of Nord Stream 2, as it sought to sell liquefied natural gas from its shale deposits to Europe, as well as Ukraine and Poland, for fear of losing their income from the transit of Russian gas to the European Union.
