Sandra “Jane” Hanke and Dieter “Tarzan” Schonlau from Paderborn (D) have been visiting the rainforests of this world for 34 years. As a photographer, e.g. for National Geographic, they shoot pictures whose beauty is second to none. In a few days they will be on the road with their multimedia show in Upper Austria as part of the “Everything Canvas Travel and Adventure Days 2023” (see below).

“With our live presentations, we want to get the audience excited about the beauty and almost limitless biodiversity of the rainforests and make them aware of how vital it is to protect these regions for humanity,” says Schonlau, who together with his wife spent 13 years in the jungle. The natives showed the two adventurers how to look behind the green curtain with the camera. At first, they were amazed when someone “appeared in shorts, white tennis socks and sneakers in the forest on Sumatra,” recalls the almost 60-year-old. “The equipment wasn’t ideal,” the trained master confectioner knows today.
