The Minister of Defense, Javier García, referred to the aid that the ministry has been giving against the drought. “Since we started with these supports at the beginning of January and until today, we distribute in the environment of 200,000 liters of waterboth for human and animal consumption, and Commander (Mario) Stevenazzi told me that, if we add up the deliveries that were made, since the water deficit began before the end of the year, it has exceeded 500,000 liters of water”, declared the minister before the press.
What is involved in the agreement with the MGAP
The Army tour – which began on Tuesday, February 3 and ended on February 8 – through affected fields of Montevideo and cannelloni with the aim of carrying out actions of recognition and evaluation of the same. The list of affected areas – which are more than 300 – was prepared by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) and later delivered to the Army.
