OSE analyzes sanctions for those who allocate water to non-priority uses

What has already been made official is the prohibition of the non-essential use of drinking water by OSE, although for the moment without sanctions for those who violate it. However, as a result of the disobedience of the population at this time, the company’s board of directors will analyze this Wednesday the idea of establishing monetary penalties for users who allocate water to non-priority uses.

One of the possibilities being studied is to implement a fine of 2 Readjustable Units (UR), that is, around 3,000 pesos at today’s value. Once the debt is cancelled, the service would be reinstated.

According to the minister, water is being diverted from the Río de la Plata in order to supply the metropolitan area and the Gold Coast, the “most complicated” locations. In addition, there is a contingency plan in case it doesn’t rain in the next few days.
