Cornelia Hütter rewarded herself with Super-G bronze at the World Ski Championships in Meribel/Courchevel – after a difficult season. A season that has not passed without a trace, especially in the women’s team, which has been criticized in recent months.
For the 30-year-old, the reactions from outside were not always pleasant and understandable. “The whole team is really behind the fact that we are successful,” says Hütter on “ServusTV”. “Then it doesn’t work for three races and everything is badmouthed. That simply does not work.”
It has happened that you talk your way into a hole “that doesn’t even exist”.
Hütter: “I don’t have any of it”
From their point of view, the fundamental mistakes were already made before the season. “When they made the big change in the spring, we already had very critical voices, but some people didn’t listen to us,” the three-time World Cup winner does not spare with criticism of the ÖSV.
The association did have a plan, but it didn’t work out as well as one might have imagined. “It is all well and good when structures are created from above. But if they don’t go down well with the athletes, it doesn’t benefit me,” says Hütter.
The World Cup is balm on the soul of the ÖSV women’s team. For Hütter herself, the World Cup has already been beaten and she is enjoying a few days off.
