A 19-year-old boy reported to the police in Schärding in the early afternoon. He had consumed drugs and was therefore no longer in control of himself. The youth was near the middle school. As a security measure, a larger contingent of the police and the Cobra immediately moved out. When asked by OÖN, the police gave the all-clear. Rumors are currently circulating in several media that there was an exchange of gunfire. “That’s not true,” said a spokeswoman for the police. “The students’ parents don’t need to be afraid. After all, the boy turned himself in.”
Arrested without resistance
After a search of almost an hour, the emergency services finally found the boy with his grandmother in Schärding, where he was sitting in front of a car. The 19-year-old was arrested without resistance. A survey of the boy should now bring more information about the voluntary disclosure that triggered the large-scale operation.
