The last operation of the day in the Electronic Stock Exchange of Uruguay (Bevsa), was agreed in 39.45 pesos, while the average price of operations was 39,334 pesos. On this Wednesday, the number of transactions was a total of twenty-onewith a number of operations that totaled a little more than 10 million dollars.

The dollar accumulates a rise of 1.69% so far in February

Compared to January 15, the US currency showed a monthly variation of almost -0.91%. According to today’s quote, so far this yearthe foreign currency accumulated a setback of -1.84%, strongly influenced by the fall of -3.29% in January, but balanced with the accumulated increase in 1.69% who registered so far February.

After the slight positive balance of 0.07% with which it closed last week, the dollar fell again this Monday and was at the precipice of 39 pesos, but with the rise yesterday and today, it moved away from that floor again . However, it is 33 cents away from drilling it.

Compared to the same day but last year –February 15, 2022–, when the exchange rate was 43,074 pesos, the interanual variation was from -8.68%.

This last variable has been showing a downward trend in recent days mainly because, by then, the dollar had already begun to fall after reaching historical peaks that it had registered in the first days of last year.

However, this happened after a sharp drop in the exchange rate in Januaryof the -3.29%which was added to –10.35% accumulated from 2022. The market agents had concluded in the last BCU Expectations Survey that would be around 39.74 pesos on average by the end of last month; however, the figure was 1,059 pesos below.
