After Karim Adeyemi’s sensational goal in Borussia Dortmund’s decisive 1-0 win over Chelsea London, beer mugs were flying around the stands in Signal Iduna Park. The German ex-team player Michael Ballack and a Chelsea FC social media man report unsatisfactory hits: Both Ballack, for DAZN as an expert on site, and the social media administrator of the Blues, were literally wet when the goal was celebrated.
Both were hit by flying beer mugs – including their contents. “We just got a beer shower. But hey, we’ll take that with us,” commented Dazn commentary Uli lever. Chelsea’s social media man, who kept the Blues fans up to date with tweets during the 90 minutes – but tweeted the goal with a certain delay, also fell victim to a beer shower. “Sorry for the delay, the admin just got hit with a beer from above,” he wrote, along with the unfortunate result for Chelsea.
Adeyemi convinced in the style of the Road Runner
In the style of the cartoon character Road Runner, the former Salzburg kicker Karim Adeyemi delighted the German soccer runners-up Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old striker scored the gold goal for BVB after a high-speed solo across the field. “Meep Meep! Not everything has gone according to plan for the German team player since moving to the Ruhr area, Adeyemi only scored two goals in 15 league games in the BVB jersey. With three goals in three competitive games in a row, he seems to be getting better and better. “We mustn’t forget that he’s still a young guy,” said Terzic, who praised Adeyemi’s work ethic after Germany’s World Cup disappointment in Qatar.
Adeyemi scored against Chelsea for the first time in the knockout phase of the “premier class”, celebrated with an artistic somersault and delighted almost all of the 81,365 spectators in the stadium. “I had goosebumps from the first minute,” said Adeyemi. For BVB it was the seventh win in seven games in 2023. In any case, the door to the quarterfinals is open for the third in the German Bundesliga, but the second leg in London at Stamford Bridge on March 7th is explosive.
