Criminal complaint for Dina Boluarte

In a context of intense social crisis, protests that have already left more than 60 dead, and political uncertainty related to the elections, four Peruvian non-governmental organizations filed a criminal complaint against President Dina Boluarte.

The complaint was filed yesterday before the office of the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, by the Association for Human Rights (Aprodeh), the Institute for Legal Defense (IDL), the NGO Paz y Esperanza, and the Voluntary Legal Team for Rights Humans.

organisms They hold the president and the rest of the defendants responsible for the “massacre” of December 10 in Apurímacwhere in a few days there were at least six dead and 83 injured in that region amid anti-government protests where protesters demanded early elections.

The document maintains that they are criminally responsible not only the police officers who committed these crimes but also “the mediate perpetrators, who are part of the chain of command”because “it is not possible to commit a massacre without the support of the authorities of the highest level.”
