For more than ten years, parents and siblings have been looking for certainty, on Friday the mysterious case will be treated in the season finale of “Unsolved – Cold Case Austria” on ATV.

It was the summer of 2012, and the Kletzls’ metal technology company had been busy for months. The brothers Andreas and Phillip, as well as a friend and co-worker, worked diligently and worked overtime. Her father wanted to reward her for her commitment with a few relaxing days of vacation in Spain. The three boys flew from Salzburg to Palma on August 16th, Andreas never returned from this holiday.

On the day of their arrival, Andreas and his friend Daniel went to a bar and met a German who persuaded them to go to the “Bierkönig” with them. When the boys wanted to leave, they lost themselves in the crowd on the way to the exit. Their hotel is nearby, everyone has a single room – it doesn’t go unnoticed that Andreas doesn’t follow.

Police assume accident

The next day, Andreas lies dead in the backyard of the neighboring hotel. Spanish police believe Andreas tried to jump into the pool from the fifth floor of the hotel but landed on concrete. For the parents, there were many arguments against the “leap to death without third-party fault” from the outset, and they collected innumerable clues that contradicted the officials’ theory. For example, individual items of clothing such as his cap are found on different floors, Andreas had hardly any alcohol in his blood, the pool is around the corner and according to the expert opinion, a fall is impossible, as assumed, given the angle of fall.

The investigations are difficult, the Austrian authorities are not responsible for deaths abroad. “I can’t bring Andreas to life, but I can enlighten him. If nobody can do anything, then I have to do something as a mother … because something is wrong and because Andras deserves the truth, ”said mother Hannelore Kletzl 2020 in the OÖN interview. She hopes for new clues from the show: “I’m not saying that Andreas was murdered, I just want to be sure that it wasn’t like that, and there are just so many questions.”

Hints The police will answer this at the following telephone number: 059 133. Information can also be given at ATV.at/ungeloest or at the nearest police station. “Unsolved – Cold Case Austria” today, February 17, at 8:15 p.m. on the free streaming app ZAPPN & on ATV
