First, the oil company made available industrial water pumps and six tankers to transport the liquid. And for the victims of the countryside, it will donate fuel and forage for rural victims, through the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), respectively.
The detail of Ancap’s donation to combat the drought
According to Durand, the pumps, some of them submersible to pump streams and rivers, are owned by Alur. They had been in a shed of the Ancap subsidiary since 2009 and were unused, they had not even been installed.
Two of them have already been erected by the state service, and another two “of important dimensions” will be withdrawn soon. “For the moment, in a bailout action with OSE, they are going to have an action that is going to be about society and very important over time,” said the president of the state oil company, who pointed out that they are in an “optimal” condition. Six tanker trucks will also be donated so that OSE can transport drinking water to where it is needed.
“Ancap has the shirt on to solve the drinking water issue,” said Durand, who also stressed that “all agencies” are working in a “coordinated manner” and “thinking of the country.”
In addition to the pumps and trucks, director Charamelo announced that Ancap will also donate 10,000 liters of diesel to the Ministry of Defense, with the aim that they be used for field machines in watering holes, streams and cutwaters. Likewise, for three months the victims will be provided with cattle feed, produced by Alur, which will be managed by the MGAP. “Winter is coming and the pastures have diminished, especially for fattening,” said the director.
Based on these last two points, the leadership of the state company estimates that the total inversion will be around $150,000.
Finally, Charamelo slipped that the government is studying the possibility of lowering the price of fuel for affected producers.
