In addition, he recalled that from this “tax conduct”, the national government was able to face the pandemic through the Covid Fund, and provide social assistance in priority areas such as early childhood, while maintaining the focus on “sustaining employment”.
The minister assured that during 2022 some 40,000 jobs were recovered and the MEF projects an addition of another 12,000 positions by 2023, regarding formal and informal work. Thus, he held the largest number of contributing positions in the Social Welfare Bank (BPS), as a growth of white jobs to the detriment of the black economy.
The government entered a “second stage” focused on wage recovery
Arbeleche maintained that, once employment stabilized, the Executive power is in a “second stage” focused on salary recovery, which registered year-on-year growth close to 1%. On this, he commented on the “historic agreement” reached with the public sector on wages, and that the private sector will be holding the tenth round of the Wages Council.
On social security reformand despite the discrepancies of the Cabildo Abierto, Arbeleche recalled that it is a party that is part of the coalition, and therefore, signed a government agreement to promote the change in the system of passivities, something that was signed by all the leaders of the Multicolor Coalition.
