Traditionally, the Obertraun carnival letter is performed in the inns of the Dachstein community on the coming carnival Monday. Every year on November 11, the Obertrauner Keppelweiba start their humorous gleaning and bring it into shape, color and tone. The best whoops and mishaps of the Obertraun population are rhymed and presented on Shrove Monday in sung or narrated form. The Obertraun carnival letter can be experienced in the following locations: Kegelbahn-Pizzeria Simmer (12.31 p.m.), Sportcafe BSFZ (3.03 p.m.), Feriendorf-Resort (5.32 p.m.) and in the Schützenhaus (8.07 p.m.). Every piece sung is caricatured and auctioned off to the highest bidder. The net proceeds benefit the Obertraun fire brigade.
