With the green “senior active card” from the city of Steyr, citizens over the age of 65 who are no longer actively employed can take advantage of the city’s offers at a reduced price. This credit card-sized card replaced the outdated paper senior citizen pass last year. The “aktivKarte” that has already been issued can now continue to be used, the magistrate announced in a broadcast: “However, any remaining unused credit expires exactly one year after the respective card is issued.” How high this is can be queried using the QR code printed on the card.
New credit can be topped up from February 28th at the city service in the town hall. For identification purposes, you must bring a photo ID (copy) and eight euros for the one-year fee. New maps are also available here.
The “senior active card” includes a 70-euro credit for the city’s bus and public baths and a 50-euro credit for the city’s cultural events.
