The percentage of those companies that reported a growth in their sales falls to 39% in the case of little and reaches 46% in the case of bigthe same figure as in the case of micro.
In the general average of each segment, however, the latter stated that they had reduced their dispatches by -8% in the accumulated figure of last year; while the small ones did so by -1.5% and the medium ones by -0.2%. The large ones, for their part, reported having increased them by an average of 2% in that period.
The items that increased the most and reduced their sales the most
According to the Chamber, the positive result of 0.9% was explained from the incidence of Computer Science and Supermarkets, “since the rest of the items mostly showed reductions in sales in real terms.”
the item Computing was the one that showed the most outstanding growth in the fourth quarter of 2022, with an increase of 12.9%, followed by supermarkets with 2.5%. The item that showed a more pronounced setback was stationery and office with a decrease of 10.4%. There were also falls of between 6.5% and 7.3% in others such as Construction materials, hardware and paints, Home appliances and Convenience stores.

In turn, there was a profound slowdown in the Travel agencywhich in the previous quarter had reached an increase of almost 30% and has now stagnated.
However, if one takes into account from end to end last year, half of the items showed falls and the other half rose. Supermarkets showed a contraction of 0.1% despite the last push of the fourth quarter and Informática, for its part, showed good results (+14%).
In second and third place were Hotels and Travel Agencies, with more than 10% and more than 5% respectively.
On the contrary, the items that fell most noticeably in 2022 were Minimarkets (-8.1%), Toys (-4.5%), Stationery and Office (7.7%) and Personal Care (-5%) .
