Since his studies, Peter Zellinger has been going through the world with open eyes. “Using technology in everyday life is easy. It’s also much more difficult to understand it. As a technician, I enjoy questioning how the devices that I use as a matter of course work,” says the 28-year-old from Vöcklabruck.

Zellinger completed his bachelor’s degree in eco-energy technology and the master’s degree in applied energy technology and sustainable energy systems on the campus of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in Wels. He now works as a process manager at Stiwa building automation. “In my work, I am confronted with current topics related to the energy and climate crisis on a daily basis. In building automation, it is essential to design processes and buildings to be as energy-saving and efficient as possible,” he says.

He enjoys the creative freedom in his job. “Technical disciplines offer the opportunity to leave your own footprint – you don’t have to be a Nobel Prize winner to do that, you can make a big difference in a small context,” he says.
