Like a year ago, Daniela Ulbing won silver in the giant slalom at the Olympics and was only beaten in the final by 19-year-old Tsubaki Miki from Japan. In the men’s competition, Alexander Payer defeated Benjamin Karl by just five hundredths of a second in the small final in the Austrian duel, thereby winning the bronze medal.
However, the condition of the slope, especially on the red course, caused a lot of criticism even from established athletes. The fight against the extremely rough conditions was in the foreground, only a few duels ended without a fall.
