Third countries are expected not to undermine the punitive measures against Moscow, according to a statement by the Japanese G7 presidency published on Saturday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Third countries would be asked to end their support for the Russian army and its allied troops, otherwise they would face “high costs”. The G7 countries reiterated their criticism of the Kremlin’s nuclear threats. “Russia’s irresponsible nuclear rhetoric is unacceptable and any use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons would face serious consequences,” Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa said as chairman.
