Melanie Königsstetter is the manager of this location and is happy about every customer who enters the shop. “Anyone who buys from us makes a statement against waste and against the throwaway society,” says Königsstetter, explaining the philosophy of the Volkshilfe shop. Customers can choose from a wide range. From clothing and shoes to toys and electrical appliances to decorative items, there is something for every taste – and every first and third Friday of the month even at half price.

What makes Melanie Königsstetter particularly happy: More and more young people who are concerned with sustainability are enthusiastically shopping in the ReVital stores. Second-hand is therefore “in”. “By purchasing used but flawless products, we have an enormous lever to reduce CO2 emissions. Every product that stays in the cycle for as long as possible and therefore does not have to be produced again immediately protects the environment and climate”, says the Volkshilfe employee.

Together with the partner company Alom Böhmerwaldwerkstatt in Aigen-Schlägl and the environmental professionals of the Rohrbach district waste association, Volkshilfe collects 47 tons of household effects, furniture, electrical appliances, etc. in the Rohrbach district every year. More than 30 tons of this comes from the waste material collection centers in the Rohrbach district and from home collection by Alom. 17 tons are collected by direct delivery to the Rohrbach shop. More than three quarters of these goods can be recycled.
