With the “Bio-Fuchs” award, Bio Austria brings farmers with forward-looking projects and ideas for protecting the climate to the fore. Among the winners are Ella Augusteyns and Johann Schauer from BioGut Dornetshub in Natternbach, they took third place. The two have created numerous structural and landscape elements such as ponds, hedges and flower strips. These measures contribute to improving biodiversity and species diversity on the farm. At the same time, the CO2 binding, shading and humus build-up make a valuable contribution to climate protection. “With our renaturation measures, we want to show how farmers can design their land ecologically so that they can take responsibility for climate protection and set a visible example,” say the two.
