Prices in China skyrocketed

Also, due to the lower supply caused by the suspension of Brazil for the export of red meat, meat prices rose in the Chinese local market. In this way, the value of the product that was already in stock increased against the possibility that it may take a while until there are new products from Brazil in China again.

Although the incidence of this behavior in Uruguayan products cannot yet be observed, it is expected that in the coming days a upward trend in all meats in generalwhich would favor local producers who could place their products abroad at better prices.

This was also a reason for the nationalist senator, Sebastián Da Silva, to celebrate the appearance of the mad cow case in Brazil on his social networks, understanding it as a great opportunity for the Uruguayan livestock market.
