After two and a half years, the marriage of the two failed, reports the German “Bild” newspaper, among others. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we have decided together to separate,” confirmed Meis and Castello. “We look back on very good times, but we have to acknowledge that our life situations are too different for a future together.”
The Dutch presenter and the German artist met in June 2019 at the wedding of model Barbara Meier and Austrian entrepreneur Klemens Hallmann in Venice. “Deep in my heart I feel that he is the right one for me. I feel safe and secure by Niclas’ side,” Meis said at the time of “Bild”. The wedding followed in September 2020 in the luxury hotel “Villa Cora” above Florence. For Sylvie Meis it was the second marriage: from 2005 to 2015 the former model was married to the Dutch soccer professional Rafael van der Vaart. Son Damian (16) comes from the marriage.
