Spring is imminent. Before the calendar spring comes, however, the trade fair spring starts first. On March 11th and 12th, the Ried Exhibition Center is putting together a three-way package that will offer something for all age groups. The subject areas: Bon appetit, 50 plus and family happiness. “Visitors can look forward to a colorful programme,” says Fair Director Helmut Slezak. More than 130 exhibitors will provide the offer.

Enjoyment and good appetite

Regional cuisine is the focus of the Bon appetit exhibition area. Together with the Upper Austria Region of Delight, visitors to the “Marketplace of Delights” will be “gained an insight into the Innviertler and regional cuisine”, as project manager Vita-Theresa Richter-Irsigler says. Fixed points of this fair are the cooking shows, where Innviertler toque-awarded and top chefs demonstrate their culinary skills in front of an audience. Among others, Barbara Maierhofer (RoomFive), Wolfgang Wohlschlager (Kammer5), Florian Schlöglmann (Wirt z’Kraxenberg), Viktoria Stranzinger (Cook up Kitchen) and Peter Reithmayr (Aqarium) as well as TV chef Elfriede Schachinger can be seen cooking live on both days . “I’m taking part in the cooking shows for the first time. It will be a challenge to cook live in front of an audience,” says restaurant operator Barbara Maierhofer. The culinary part of the fair is supplemented by a wine lounge on Saturday (until 9 p.m.). Beer and spirits specialties are also presented.

Part of the spring trade fair is also geared specifically to the 50+ generation. It is not only about information on the areas of vacation, cosmetics, health and wellness as well as living and lifestyle. “At the Red Cross stand we also offer the opportunity for health checks, and information is also provided by acousticians, orthopedists and opticians,” says Fair Director Helmut Slezak. A bike course offers opportunities to exercise and test bikes. Ski racer and Olympic medalist Katharina Gallhuber will report on her way to comeback after her serious injury on Saturday, March 11th.
