The Mostviertler were error-prone in the volleydome, both in service and acceptance, and were only able to really challenge the Innviertler in the third round. With 22:25, 18:25 and 34:36, the VCA got off to a smooth false start in the best-of-three series for the semi-finals. “Ried was superior to us in every respect,” commented VCA manager Michael Henschke on his team’s game, which didn’t want to get into the first playoff game at all. “I just can’t understand how you can appear like that,” he said, disappointed with his team. With that, the VCA already has its back to the wall before the second match, which will take place next Saturday in the Johann-Pölz-Halle. The Mostviertler can no longer afford to make a mistake and have to force the third and decisive game with a mandatory win. “The starting position is really difficult, but it’s settled at the end,” said Henschke.
