BAUMGARTENBERG. As one of the best robot specialists and project developers in Austria, the Eurobot robotics group from the Europagymnasium Baumgartenberg made a name for itself at this year’s First Lego League. After the Eurogym team had already won the men’s regional competition in the “Research” category at the Ars Electronica Center Linz, the young inventors recently traveled to Bad Radkersburg in Styria for the national competition. Here, the lower school students demonstrated their skills in the categories “Research”, “Robot Design”, “Robot Game” and “Basic Values” in the group of the 13 best teams from Austria for a day.

This time, the girls and boys from Eurobot showed their special strength in team play and were voted one of the four best teams in Austria by the jurors in the category “Basic Values”. The enthusiastic team members David Hanl, Paul Vielböck (3a), Laurenz Beyer, Jakob Gusenbauer, Ben Lagler, Klemens Schinnerl, Peter Schweitzer, Luisa Spiegl, Luis Steininger, Charlotte Thiel (3b), Sebastian Radinger were correspondingly delighted with this success , Jonas Tauber (3c) and Johannes Lamatsch and Felix Mühlehner (4b). The Eurobot team has been excellently coached, accompanied and motivated over the past few months by Gerald Landl and Sarah Aigner.

When preparing for this competition, the team members really outdid each other in terms of commitment and commitment. The tasks were not only worked on in the optional subject of robotics at school. The robotics talents also stayed at school a lot longer on several occasions and also used some Saturdays for additional training. The fact that, after the online competitions of the past two years, one could finally get a taste of “real” competition air again this year also contributed to the motivation.
