An 18-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district drove his car on the B 1 from Pöndorf towards Frankenmarkt at around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday. In the local area of Pöndorf he hit the stone wall next to the road in a left turn.
The force of the impact caused the vehicle to rotate on its own axis. The passenger, aged 19, was unharmed. The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance. A breathalyzer was negative. The B1 was closed for about an hour for the duration of the clean-up work and accident recording.
