With an impressive record of 17 wins and just one defeat, the Hypo-Tirol volleyball team ended the regular season in the Bundesliga as the superior leader. The Tyroleans are the overwhelming favorite for the title this season.

Tirol also lived up to this role in the first game of the semi-final series on Saturday against UVC McDonald’s Ried. Coach Dominik Kefer’s team was only able to open the first set.

Ultimately, the favorite prevailed in their own hall with 25:23. The other two sets each went relatively clearly to the home side at 25:15.

home game on Wednesday

The second game of the semi-final series will take place next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Raiffeisen Volleydome in the Rieder exhibition center. In front of their home audience, the people of the Innviertel want to challenge the Tyroleans more. “We have the best fans in the league,” says coach Kefer, whose team has already achieved the big goal for the season: By making it into the semi-finals, it’s clear that Rieder will compete again in the European Cup in autumn.
