In an emergency, the Upper Austrian league will probably be increased

More fighting than playful class: In the Upper Austrian league top game between Askö Oedt and Wallern, every ball was fought for. In the end, the two top teams parted with a 1-1 draw.

If the Upper Austria league had already ended today, there would be no relegation apart from ATSV Stadl-Paura, who have already fallen out of the standings. Even FC Wels would be saved.

The calculation is relatively simple: There is (currently) no relegation from the regional league because the Twelfth Vöcklamarkt would also be saved. According to the OÖFV statutes, which were changed in November, the Upper Austrian league champions are obliged to either be promoted or relegated next season in June. This leaves two places free for the two promoted players from the Landesliga.

However, you already know that Oedt will go to court if he wins the title. As already reported in detail by the OÖN, the chances for Oedt are significantly better than one sees with the association. In the OÖN interview, experts pointed out above all that a change during the current season always offers a good starting position for a club.

But what would happen if Oedt were awarded a place in the Upper Austria League by the ÖFB after the end of the season? Would an Upper Austria league team then have to bite the bullet as they were relegated and would be saved at the end of the season? That can be ruled out. In this case, according to OÖN information, the association would consider increasing the league so that no club would be harmed. That’s why the calculation stays the same: If Vöcklamarkt doesn’t get relegated from the regional league, the fifteenth (currently FC Wels) is also saved. 14th place would be enough if there is a regional league relegated.

1:1 draw in the top duel

With the 1:1 in the home game against SV Wallern, Askö Oedt was able to successfully defend their four-point lead over the first pursuer.
