Media entrepreneur Rupert Murdoch (92) wants to marry for the fifth time. Murdoch proposed to 66-year-old Ann Lesley Smith, the New York Post, which belongs to his company, reported on Monday. “I was very nervous,” Murdoch was quoted as saying, “I shied away from falling in love – but I knew it would be my last time. It should be better. I’m happy.”
Smith is the widow of country singer Chester Smith and, according to media reports, has worked as a police chaplain in San Francisco, among other things. The couple met at Murdoch Winery last September. “It’s a gift from God for both of us,” Smith was quoted as saying. A spokesman for Murdoch confirmed the engagement to Variety.
Murdoch split from actress Jerry Hall, to whom he had been married since 2016, about a year ago. Before that he had been married three times, and the marriages have six children.
