He Congress of Mayors confirmed the extension of the expiration of the second installment of the patent until next Thursday March 23even, due to a computer failure in the systems of the collection networks authorized to pay the vehicle tax.
The error in the system that occurred during the closing of the day yesterday, Monday, March 20, forced the department heads to take the measure of extend for 72 business hours the tax payments, in accordance with the provisions of the current protocol on the matter, and “maintaining the full validity of the system with all its collection attributes during said period”, since it was the last business day to pay the second installment.
In this line, the mayors requested reports from the collection networks in question, in a search to clarify “the facts that generated this inconvenience”, as well as “the level or degree of responsibility of the actors in the process”, and “the reasons for the inadvertence of the operating system that did not account for the proven failure”. All this, “will be duly analyzed and evaluated by the Commission of Article 3 of Law 18860.”
Cancellation on the date of the second installment is discounted with 10%
Vehicle owners who wish to access a 10% bonus on the value of the quota they must pay it until March 23, inclusive. Wheel users who paid the entire value of the patent before the first expiration, on January 20, agreed to a 20% discount on the final amount.
The other maturities of the patent quotas throughout this year were set by the Unique Vehicle Income Collection System (Sucive) for May 23: July 20; on September 20 and November 20.

The payment of the tax for all categories may be made through the departmental governments or at collection locations Abitab, redpaymentsor offices of the Uruguayan Mailas well as all those others that are enabled.
