An orphaned pediatrician position in Lambach will soon be moving to Stadl-Paura. But that’s not all, the Stadlinger Mayor Christian Popp (List Popp) wants to squeeze another vacant cash position for gynecology from Lambach: “If no one applies in the current call for applications, we will try,” Popp clarifies.
The dynamism of the shipping community, which was elevated to town status last year, makes the neighbors shudder. Above all, Lambach, which is culturally and historically more important, is feeling the competition from its up-and-coming neighbor. “The city survey certainly had no influence on the medical issue. Unfortunately, we could not offer what was required. 200 square meters at ground level and a sufficient number of parking spaces in front of the surgery – we don’t have that,” regrets the mayor of Lambach, Hannes Moser (VP ).
Lambach practice recently remodeled
The practice rooms in question in the Sparkasse building were only remodeled a few years ago, when pediatrician Josef Nissler succeeded Susanne Schober. After Nissler’s retirement, the health insurance office moved to Stadl-Paura, where two specialists will run the practice together and part-time. The municipality is financing the conversion of an abandoned elementary school wing. “The location in the immediate vicinity of the school, kindergarten and crèche is ideal,” enthuses Popp. A second practice is also possible there. Namely the gynecology position that is currently vacant in Lambach. Specialist Marion Lachmair has terminated her health insurance contract and is continuing her work as a doctor of choice in Lambach. A step that more and more doctors are daring because they can freely organize their working hours and fees.
Mayor Moser has mixed feelings about the emigration trends from Lambach: “It annoys me that we can’t offer the necessary infrastructure. At the same time, I’m happy if the specialist position stays in the region.” Because in the meantime it is the case that many Stadlingers in Lambach would go to the doctor and vice versa: “It’s getting more and more mixed up,” Moser is convinced.
