The historic estate of ancap in east pointlocated at Gorlero and Calle 30., was finally auctioned on Tuesday and acquired by a Uruguayan investment group that promised to give it an “interesting” use.
The place, of 1,637 square meters, was acquired for 2,300,000 dollars, the base price of the auction, since there was only one bidder.
A service station operated on the property, which was moved in 2006 and the Automobile Museum was currently operating.
The state company Ancap and the Maldonado City Hall signed, in 2017, a loan agreement for 99 years for usufruct by the Punta del Este City Hall of the property
Before the auction was carried out, neighbors filed an appeal so that it could not be carried out, but in the end it did not prosper and it was carried out, Teledoce recalled.
The place is considered heritage and, therefore, it is within the provisions that what is going to be built must first go through the specific commission of the area, which must approve it.
The investment group plans to build a building with no more than 26 floors, in addition to two important parking lots. “For us, what there is is satisfaction from the commercial point of view,” said the representative of the national investment group, Walter Pritschto Telemundo.
“We intend to continue expanding our activity within the possibilities provided by the market,” he added.
