The National Union of Workers and Transport Workers (unott) joined the national strike of this Sunday convened by the Single Union of Automobiles with Taximeter and Telephone Operators (suatt) in the face of the death of two transport workers in the department of paysanduand the city of San Ramón (cannelloni).

The circumstances of the death of the Paysandú taxi driver remain uncertain
From this, they assured that it will be requested “a meeting with the highest authorities of the Interior” in order to clarify the events that occurred. In the first instance, both cases were reported as homicides, however, the death of the Paysandú taxi driver is not entirely clear.
In the early hours of Saturday, a bus driver from 56 years was stabbed in San Ramón, while the taxi driver of 39 years who died in Paysandú was found at 02:00 in the morning with a stab wound to the leg, dying around 07:00 in the hospital. It is believed that there was no theft because the money from the collection was in the car. The taxi driver was traveling alone, and the weapon was also his property.
