The Actau accused the breach of a collective agreement and claims remuneration in accordance with the current qualifications.
The Board of Directors of the Actau (Association of Air Traffic Controllers of Uruguay) signed a statement informing of the resolution, assembly through, of suspend takeoffs between days April 3 and 16. The union measure was born as a response “to the breach of the agreement signed last December 30 and its addendum of January 31 of this year.”
Actau, had already requested the Ministry of Defenceand the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) the call for “a tripartite body for the purpose of learning about the actions carried out by MDN-DINACIA (Ministry of Defense – National Directorate of Civil Aviation and Aeronautical Infrastructure) on the points agreed in the agreement”.
Points agreed in the agreement
- 1 — Remuneration according to current qualifications.
- 2 — Draft article for accountability and payment of instruction.
- 3 — Working conditions in air traffic services.
- 4 — Budgeting of Controllers hired in 2018.
- 5 — Implementation of payment to instructors.
- 6 — Continuity of collective bargaining with the agreed agenda of the aforementioned agreement.

- March 4: 01:00 to 03:00 and 13:00 to 15:00.
- March 5th: 02:00 to 04:00 and 14:00 to 16:00.

- 7 of March: 04:00 to 06:00 and 16:00 to 18:00.

The Act assured that are excluded of union measures flights affected by weatherof search and rescueof emergencyof State, humanitarianand sanitary. Along these lines, it was reported that Actau’s actions “in no case endanger the life, safety or health of all or part of the population, because they are aircraft on the ground.”
In turn, he expressed his regret for the inconvenience that the measures could cause to passengers and users of the aeronautical system, “due to a situation in which we have fully complied with all of what was agreed.”
