“Felix Blom. The prisoner from Moabit” is the title of the new book by Alex Beer, whose real name is Daniela Larcher. Today, Wednesday, at 8 p.m. in the Steyr Kulturzentrum Akku, Austria’s most successful and, for many, Austria’s best crime writer, will be reading from her work.
Content: Berlin in 1878. The crook Felix Blom is released from prison after three years in prison. But in freedom, nothing is the same as it used to be: His belongings have been confiscated, his fiancée is in a relationship with someone new. All attempts to get money or work fail. But then Blom has a brilliant idea: Why not team up with your new neighbor?
The former prostitute Mathilde runs a private detective agency, but the orders are rare because, as a woman, she is not trusted for this work. Their first case leads the two straight to the trail of a mysterious killer who sends his victims letters with the message: “In a few days you will be a corpse.”
When Blom gets one of those cards slipped under his door, things get personal.
From crook to master detective: Felix Blom knows all the tricks and makes Berlin’s criminals sweat. This is the grandiose start of the new, exciting crime series by bestselling author Alex Beer.
