The 55-year-old was driving his car on Kremsmünsterer Straße (L 562) in the direction of Pettenbach at around 6:25 a.m. Because a game ran across the road at kilometer 15.5, the man had to switch to the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming truck.
After the collision, the car was dragged along about 50 meters, partly under the truck. The 55-year-old suffered such serious injuries that he died at the scene of the accident.
