As reported, a 40-year-old Bosnian was stabbed on the street on Friday morning. Two men aged 40 and 19 were arrested. The victim died in hospital on Friday. The motive was still in the dark yesterday.
In the meantime, witnesses and suspects have been questioned. “According to the current status of the investigation, the motive should have been jealousy,” the police said on Saturday afternoon. Further background was not disclosed. The main suspect is a 40-year-old man from Montenegro. He refused to testify during the interrogation on Saturday. The investigators said the motive will be checked intensively.
Cobra arrested suspect
The results of the autopsy are also available. Accordingly, the Bosnian had been struck down with five stab wounds. He, the main suspect, also 40, and the 19-year-old were driving to a company on Friday morning. On the way there they stopped with the car in Marchtrenk. The two 40-year-olds got out and the knife attack ensued. The suspect then jumped back into the car and ordered the 19-year-old driver to drive him to a restaurant in Traun. The two men stayed there for a while until the 40-year-old suddenly got up and fled by car. At around 8.50 a.m. he was stopped near the Bindermichl tunnel and arrested by Cobra officers. The knife was in the getaway vehicle.

The main suspect is now in Wels Prison. In the meantime, the arrest of the 19-year-old driver has been lifted because there is no urgent suspicion against him. However, he was arrested under the Aliens’ Law, the State Police Directorate informed. The decision on the imposition of pre-trial detention will take place around noon on Sunday.
