There are currently 220 charging points in total. The goal is to provide at least 1,500 charging points on the ASFINAG network by 2035, Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) calculated today. In the entire e-charging network, the country currently has a total of 15,663 e-charging points.
The European Union wants a charging station to be set up every 60 kilometers along motorways and important junctions by 2030. “We already have a very good charging infrastructure in Austria. It is one of the best in Europe. We are on the right track and are almost reaching the EU targets – seven years earlier than planned,” says Gewessler. In relation to the population, Austria has the sixth highest number of e-charging points in an EU comparison (197 e-charging points per 100,000 inhabitants).
