Does Todd Boehly now regret one of his first official acts as the new Chelsea managing director? Six months ago, he fired Thomas Tuchel, who is now Bayern coach, and freed Graham Potter from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove because Boehly was hoping for new impetus. They fizzled out, after the 2-0 loss to Aston Villa Potter was released again.

This year, Chelsea have won just three out of twelve league games and are only eleventh in the Premier League. In the Champions League, Chelsea reached the quarter-finals and meets Real Madrid there. Potter has agreed to work with the club to ensure a smooth transition, it said. “Chelsea would like to thank Graham for his efforts and contribution and wish him well in the future.”

Many names are traded

Immediately after the sacking, there was already speculation in the English media about a possible successor. The newspaper “The Sun” named Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Jose Mourinho and also Oliver Glasner. However, the newspaper only gave the Upper Austrian outsider chances.
