The Caritas learning café in Mattighofen is urgently looking for volunteers. The volunteers support children from needy families with their homework one to three times a week and also help them to learn German through play. A pedagogical training is not necessary. Volunteers like Brigitte Barth, who has been coming to the learning café regularly since it opened almost a year ago, are already providing support. “Working with the children is fun and for me personally it is an enrichment that I can give the children something to take home – not only for school but also for life. I can only recommend it to all pensioners and those who have time. “
The volunteers are more than “tutors”. According to Caritas, they give the children their time and support them in expanding their scope of experience and developing perspectives and talents. According to the organizers of the offer, the main goal is for the children aged between six and 15 who are cared for to successfully complete their schooling.
