After three decades of construction work, the historic building now stands on its own again – without any “ornamental” technical accessories. The renovation work on the castle ruins began in 1993. Since then, more than 25,000 hours of work have been completed by the “ARGE Burgruine”. A total of 250 people worked between one hour and 3800 (!) hours.

A milestone in the work was reached in 2012 when the keep was accessible. Most recently, the castle area was upgraded with the renaturation of the castle ponds, making it a popular excursion destination. With the dismantling of the construction crane, the work is nearing completion. Fortunately, the restoration of the castle ruins has been accident-free over the years.
