The Easter nests are probably best hidden indoors next Sunday, because a cool and unstable week with rain showers and maximum daily temperatures of up to ten degrees Celsius is now ahead. According to the current forecast, there is no weather improvement in sight for the Easter weekend either, says meteorologist Claudia Riedl from GeoSphere Austria.
Already today, Monday, the day begins with cool temperatures of minus two to plus three degrees, during the day they rise to a maximum of eight degrees. “Sometimes the sun fights its way through the cloud cover in the lowlands, otherwise it remains unsettled. There could still be a few centimeters of snow in the southern mountains,” says meteorologist Riedl. The advantage in the Easter holidays: Now the winter sports enthusiasts can leave their mark on the slopes again before the last ski areas end the season with the Easter weekend.
Frosty temperatures
In the night to Tuesday it remains only slightly cloudy, in the morning hours it can be slightly frosty at minus five to zero degrees on Tuesday. During the day, the temperatures reach a maximum of six degrees, the sun appears only very rarely when the clouds are low.
According to Claudia Riedl, it is very difficult to predict what the next few days of the coming week will look like: “There is currently a low pressure area over Upper Austria. How this will affect the weather cannot be said at the moment. The weather conditions are very uncertain , which will also accompany us on the Easter weekend.” One thing is clear: a sunny spring day with 20 degrees is not to be expected in Upper Austria in the next two weeks. “March was too warm on average anyway, so agriculture in particular needs the current precipitation. The April weather will therefore remain with us,” says the GeoSphere meteorologist.
