For around five years, owners of electric cars have not had to pay any parking fees in the toll zone in downtown Riede. It is enough to set the parking meter, the maximum duration is limited to two hours. At the beginning of May there will be a change in the parking fee schedule of the city of Ried. This was approved at the last council meeting. “By lifting the tax exemption for electrically powered vehicles in the inner city area, the equal treatment of all multi-lane vehicles is now being restored,” says SPÖ Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for Transport Peter Stummer.
A major reason is that the purchase of electric cars is already being massively funded, according to Stummer.
