Ancap disassociated itself from the dismissals of supergás workers

The president of the entity said that the decisions of Riogas and Acodike are “purely business.”

Alejandro Stipanicicpresident of the National Administration of Fuels, Alcohol and Portland (Ancap), He spoke about the layoffs in Riogas and Acodike and established that it seems “unfair” to blame the entity for the regulatory conditions that, according to him, did not change.

“Involve Ancap in purely business decisions it is at least unfair”, established Stipanicic who added that “business decisions were the ones that led the process carried out by Ancap, both in the bidding for the plants, and in the auction for the packaging service that Ducsa made”.

From Ancap they remarked that no condition was put, nor restriction, nor any economic term that would change the equation of Riogas and Acodike so that they made that decision. On the other hand, he highlighted that in the bidding the rental cost was free and that the companies that submitted bids for two floors and two different rental terms.

“It was the companies’ decision, in this case acodikewho won his plant for five years and Riogas for eight years, the cost of the rent”, established Stipanicic, who added that if Riogas offered twice as much as Acodike, “it did so in its freedom of choice and based on its numbers”.

Regarding the dismissals, the president of Ancap said that it “mightily strikes him” that on the same day – last Friday – there was a coordinated action of the companies that manage 70% of the supergas in Uruguay. “They are not casual measures. And they are two companies that face different costs for the future,” questioned Stipanicic.

Yesterday, the leader of the Uruguayan Federation of Commerce and Services Employees (Fuecys), Favio Riveron, reported that the Executive Power presented a road map to advance with the negotiations with the supergas workers.

According to the leader of Fuecys, the route sheet is more similar to the request of the workers since it allows to evaluate in a particular way the conditions of each one of the 26 employees who were dismissed in the Riogas company, although they stressed that the dismissals will continue.
