The Helfenberg artist Hermann “Heck” Eckerstorfer exhibits a selection of his works in Goldwörth. The picture exhibition in the parish center will be opened in the Easter Vigil. From Sunday, April 23 (4 p.m.), sculptures can be seen in public space in Goldwörth. There is also literature from the Goldwörth library and songs from “Rumkeks”. The works are on display until September.
Wood is the material of choice for the versatile artist. His method is less about processing the material than working out the structures already present in his finds. The result is impressive, sometimes huge sculptures that make the sculptural works in wood accessible and tangible for the viewer.
Eckerstorfer: “When I work on the pieces of wood, I see my task as making the specifications of nature clearer and changing the original shape as little as possible. The sculptures are subordinate to the naturally grown forms, so to speak. And yet I look for them by dealing with the material, there are always new ways of breathing life into the wood formations that have been declared dead and giving them a new originality of the ‘innermost form’ to be uncovered.”
