In a press release by the anti-vaccination party MFG, Stefanie Hofstätter confirmed that she had taken over the chair of the parliamentary group in the Steyr municipal council from her predecessor Christian Royda. Mayor Markus Vogl (SP) also read out the change at the top of the MFG town hall faction as one of the first items on the agenda of the last municipal council meeting.
The justification that Hofstätter gave in the press release can be questioned: Royda “had to be a little quieter for health reasons,” as he himself emphasized. Vogl announced at the municipal council meeting that Royda was now acting as deputy for the parliamentary group leader Hofstätter. This is also strange, after Royda had already announced his departure from the MFG national group in October. At that time he had said that after consultation with the magistrate he would continue to work as a municipal councilor and remain the leader of the parliamentary group. Royda could not be reached by OÖN yesterday for a current statement.
